Today is simple, I finally uploaded a the Knitty Gritty Socks and added a knit {feet} section to the pattern drop down.
These socks were originally knit out of the Cashmere Co-op's Orleans Mink Merino; a beautiful blend of mink/merino/nylon. The yarn has since been discontinued, but there are many substitutions you can use. The original yarn was a lace/light fingering weight which we held DOUBLE for this pattern. To substitute I would suggest either doubling a lace/light fingering weight OR using a light DK or sport weight held SINGLE stranded.
The pattern comes in 3 sizes: small, medium & large to fit shoe sizes
- Women’s small 5 – 8.50 or men’s 5
- 7: 8”/ 20.25cm circumference; 9”/23cm length (adjustable).
- Women’s medium 6 – 9 or men’s 7 - 9: 9”/23cm circumference; 10”/25.50 length (adjustable).
- Women’s large 8 – 12 or men’s 10 - 12: 10”/25.50cm; 11”/28cm length (adjustable).
They are a fun and fairly simple knit. The length of the foot and cuff are both adjustable. The great thing about sock knitting is the compactness; small enough to stuff in your purse or bag on the go! I never leave my house without my knitting, and a pair of socks is the perfect project for just that!
