After a whirl-wind called the 'holidays,' it is time to finally relax a bit, hunker down for some puzzling and knitting, crocheting or crafting into the New Year!
Earlier this year I designed the Capital Cowl, unfortunely the original yarn I chose, Diamond Luxury Viva, has been discontinued....
~ When one door closes another door opens ~
Over the last few months I have been researching yarns that would be a great alternative. I found Diamond Luxury Mirage. It is a chunky weight blend of 50% wool & 50% silk. I chose 3 colors to start:
The first color I call Opal. It subtly stripes in mauves, blues, golds, and pinks. Opal is a great pale pink neutral that will really go with everything!
The second color I chose is a stunning Grey. It is a mix of greys, silvers, soft blues, and mauves, I am gaga over this one!
The third color I chose reminds me of the sea. It made up of Teals, greens and blues. If you want a bit more color, this is the winner!
The blend of silk and wool is quite nice. Unlike alpaca it has a bit less drape and it's not so heavy as the original. It's beautiful subtle sheen from the silk and sturdiness from the wool gives it body and luxury.
You can wear it long...or doubled around your neck.....
